Thanksgiving

Well, I havent posted in awhile, i took a holiday from that and i didnt have a computer at my house that i could use. I had a great time at home and it was alot of fun. Friday, Tara and i hung out all day and didnt do much, packing and we went to the basketball game, it was pretty good. Then on Saturday I flew home and went to my little brother's orchestra concert, then dinner at El Fenix mexican resturaunt- best fajitas ever. Then i went to see Harry Potter which was really good, i liked it alot even though i havent read the books. Sunday I went to the college class at sunday school and i hung out with my dad and we went shopping. Then i went to the mall with James. Monday i had to have surgery in the morning and it went well but my eye was partially open during the surgery for 2hrs and i got a corneal abrasion- hurt like hell. My sinus didnt really hurt, i didnt take any pain medicine, just tylenol, and i was fine. My eye was the worst part and i had to have a patch and by tuesday night my eye was alot better, and wednesday it was almost healed. I slept pretty much all day monday and tuesday, and then i ate freeb!rds with james daniels on wednesday. Thursday we went to my grandparents house for dinner and we had some great food. My grandpa has alzheimers and he didnt know who i was, it was really sad I had to tell him about 10 times. Then we drove back and saw Prime which i thought was really funny. Tara saw it at the same time but in birmingham, so that was pretty cool. I got a new phone on thursday and it works pretty well, coolest thing is that it gets my vanderbilt email and has windows mobile. I went to the football game on friday and had a blast, i saw a bunch of people i hadn't seen in forever and that was the best part. Our team won and the quarterback is incredible. He's going to Georgia next semester to play football. Next saturday we play the semi-finals, then the state championship. We beat Ennis who was the defending state champions from last year. Then i went to see walk the line with my dad and it was really well done, i learned alot about Johnny Cash that i didnt know and it was cool. Saturday was my last day and I went with James to freebirds and then BestBuy and CompUSA. My grandma hurt her back so my parents were in Kaufman at the hospital, she's ok though. I was looking at the 12" powerbook by Apple, and my little brother wants the 15" one. They're really cool. Then i met up with dax and we watched tales from the crypt. Then we went and picked up David and went to a party where i saw a bunch of people i hadn't seen in a really long time, since graduation for most of them and that was pretty fun, but they were all drunk so it was kinda awkward. Then i packed, woke up early and flew back. Tara picked me up at the airport and the bag people took my aerosol can for the airsoft gun, punks. Then Tara nad I drove back then we saw a sign for the zoo. We thought it would be fun, so we did and it was incredible. There was one area where the birds flew around and landed on your head! (pic to follow), then we met Dan. Dan is insane! He was there with his wife and his son Tanner, and he's like 14months. Dan is from Denver and VERY eager to help out. I was looking at the map of the zoo and he ran over and said, "HEY! What are you looking for? (i told him the cheetahs) he's like GREAT, Let's go this way, I'll show ya!" (tara and i exchanged awkward glances) then we followed. He and his wife were wearing matching denver broncos jerseys. Then we came upon the meerkats, he was very excited to tell us all about them and he took a picture for us. I wish i had gotten a picture of him. Then we went onward, after introducing ourselves. He was incredibly friendly and helpful, but almost overly so and we tried to avoid him. He's kinda overwhelming for the average person, but he's really cool. We went to the reptile house and it was cool, they were feeding an Anaconda and then we were at a brigde. We didnt know which way to go and soon enough Dan shows up again and yells from about 100 yds away, "Richard! Are ya'll lost?!" He saw my map, it's like a homing beacon for this guy, I swear whenever I pull it out its like he had an alarm attached and would pop out and help me out! Then we walked over to the cheetahs and then Tara got a call so we hung back, and also to avoid Dan. Then we walked more and came to the tigers, Dan found us again and said "Long time no see! " and asked if we had seen the cloudy leopard and the red panda, when we said no he exploded! He was like, honey, can i take Richard and Tara to see the Red Panda and Cloudy Leopard?! Please!? Then he said he would be back soon and went to show us the leopard. He said that he likes taking pictures with the leopard and he said it was his favorite at the zoo. Then he told us about the denver zoo and how he took a pictuer with his nephew and a polar bear. He was really excited! Then he showed us the red pandas that walked around their habitat and marked their territory by sitting on sticks and rubbing their butts on them, it was really odd, he seemed to get a kick out of it. Then he said that we missed the exhibits because we were too busy having "googly eyes" on each other, but Tara was just on the phone. Then I killed Dan. j/k but he left and we didnt see him again- which was a blessing, but it was alot of fun when he was around just because how ridiculous it was. I'm sure he's the type of guy to search for my blog or something and he'll probably end up reading this, just because he's that interesting... So Tara and I went back and went to Quiznos, then I gave her some birthday presents and we went to Peabody. I realized i had to do journals so she went upstairs and talked with christine. I went up and talked to them, then i came down wrote Tara's card, she really liked it and then took her over to the vandy van. She's so awesomeeeee. I'm really tired now but I felt like i had to document that crazy experience with Dan and the fun times over break, and just how amazing Tara is! Night.

Week of hell

I had a large research paper due wednesday, and i have a physics test today at 5, then i'm going to Kanye west, then i'm sleeping for a week because I need it that badly. I have to have sinus surgery on monday, so i will likely be in bed for a couple of days. Anyway, it was tornadoing last night and it was really wet, i had to walk/run from stevenson to Towers to do work with Tara and i was completely soaked when i got there. My netflix movies came today in the mail, i think someone stole them last time from my mailbox, i didnt get them last week! The weather is cold. I am being really random today, i havent gotten much sleep lately but i will soon! I hope i rock this physics test! Later...

StarBYX

StarBYX was awesome, some people doubted the Schulmann center, but it was an awesome event and the venue was perfect. I performed at StarBYX and I went first because no one else wanted to. I suck, so it was fitting for me to go first. I played two songs, the first one i wrote a while ago in songwriting class, the other one a wrote 2 days before and i hadn't practiced it enough. I saw Kings of Leon and the Donnas on Friday night, and that was really cool. Then Tara and I went to farmageddon at Lambda Chi , they were supposed to have farm animals but they didnt. Then we met up with Christine and Allie who was at her first frat ever! Yay allie! Then Tara and I went back to my room to watch Zoolander, but we fell asleep. Then saturday we went to the football game, and vandy came back 30 points and we almost won. We have so many heartbreaking games it really sucks. Anyway, saturday night i saw pride and prejudice it was really well made and it was a good story. Then i went to church this morning and then baja fresh for lunch and now i'm gonna start studying. Ben Folds is tonight at Ryman so that should be fun... See ya!

swimming rocks, officer elections are tonight so i hope those go well, it will be a big event in our fraternity history, it will be fun no matter who wins. Jeff got a new phone, he went to FL for the vandy game and we tied FL and we went into double OT and lost! So freakin close! THe leaves on Vandy's campus are incredible - listen to Keeley Valentino - Nashville to hear what i'm talking about... See ya!

SKATING PARTY! AHHH

Tonight was awesome, we had a blast and we had some great skating. Tara Whit and Christine came along and we had a grand ole' time. I am wearing my new onezie that i got at target today. IT rocks, it is soo comfy and it has little frogs and snowflakes. It is sky blue and an XL. Eric Yetter is the man! I got most of the stuff for StarBYX and Semi-formal figured out, and i'm glad because that was very difficult. I bought some sweet clothes at goodwill, 70s style. I also bought a laser music thing for 7 bucks, it works! but i had to take the battery cover off, like break it off. Tara and i then went to target and i got some sweet glasses and a onezie. We went to quiznos then to her room to change. We met Whit and picked up Christine at PF Changs. Then we went skating, amazing place, pics coming soon. I then went home and christine and jeff were talking for awhile in our room. Jeff likes talking about relationships and girls, so does Christine. Its the freakin weekend baby gonna have me some fun! - Treehouse tomorrow with BYX Rush Camping trip! Later!

NO HOT WATER!

How is there no hot water in my dorm? How does something like that even happen?! Ridiculous, it's not like someone left it running, the excuse they gave had something to do with the AC and building temperature! We pay so much money for rent, and we get crappy small rooms, compromised shared bathrooms, and no hot water! I want a partial refund! I had to go to Gillette to take a shower, and the showerhead was about 4 feet off of the ground, i had to bend over the whole time to take a shower! This sucks, hard. Anyway, i had a really fun weekend, friday night was death cab, then I ran over to the buses for ADPi Mallard Ball, then Jeff, Christine, Tara and I went to the SigEp party in Wesley Place, we heard "Scotty Doesn't Know" and I decided we should watch Euro Trip starting at 2am. We went to bed at 4:30, i had to get up at 7AM for BYX service, and Tara lives in Towers. She slept on the lovesac, and i took her home in the morning. BYX service day was fun, and we pulled up honeysuckle and privet from Werner park. Then i came back and went to brunch with Tyler and Emily, K-Hritz joined us, and then i went back and took a nap. Saturday night i went to Sig Chi from 12-2 with Tara. Whit was supposed to hang out, but she didnt call me, or is that, wasn't "able" to call me... I went to Midtown and i went by Branscomb and picked up Vanessa, Ben, and James "tinsley" Porter the third. It was a good sermon about the final beattitude. We went to Panera afterward with Tara and Christine and John Grisham, or Mini-Diezba. I studied on Sunday, wrote a paper then I went to the Pub and ate with one of my Vuceptees. I went to hte Delta Underground, which was alot of fun, i went with moredock. Then BYX officer meeting to talk about StarBYX and Semi-formal. Today I went to the rec and swam and worked out. I rollerbladed over there, i met Tara there as i was leaving and talked to her for awhile. I got back and i organized crap on my computer. I really want a PowerBook G4 12inch. My computer is starting to piss me off. Then i went upstairs and hung out with Whit, then went to BYX chapter, told them my goals, went to SigEp haunted house, very well done btw, went to Eskind studied, saw John, then took a shower in Gillette, back to the present.(wow that had like 4 run-ons in it!) LATER!
