Read Donald Miller's Searching for God Knows What, it's really good! I am taking the DAT on Friday at 10AM, pray for me! I have been studying for many many weeks now, but I'm ready for it! I can't wait to go back to school and see everyone again, being at home is pretty boring. We're going to Alaska next friday, so I guess that will be fun, we're going fishing and white water rafting and on a small cruise past glaciers. Recently I have been at Dr. Alexander's office and i make the IDB - indirect bonding method of putting brackets on. First the assistants place the brackets on a model of the person's teeth, then Dr. A checks it, then we put vinylpolysiloxane, VPS on so it will hold the brackets in place, do a "suck down" on the model so the VPS and brackets are now on a tray, then trim the clear trays to fit their mouth and voila- just add adhesive and light, and they have braces! It's pretty neat, and I think i want to do orthodontics rather than general dentistry or surgery becuase there are so many opportunities to affect middle school children and their lives after braces. You can teach them about setting goals and working hard to acheive them, and it's also a great way to build confidence, be a role model, and since you get to see them every 2-6wks you can really get to know them better than the every 6 months dental visits! I'm excited to start dental school, but I am still a Jr! I now have a goal and I am working on acheiving the goal ... but seriously, that book is good!
